Greatest Gary Cooper films (June 2019)

Gary Cooper was another of the greatest stars of the golden age of Hollywood. It is crazy how many legends were in the business at the same time. These are the greatest films of his that I have seen. I have not seen Pride of the Yankees. That is the only reason it is not on the list. Gary Cooper projected a strength, but also an honesty and a vulnerability. There was a certain amount integrity and kindness behind his eyes. He seemed to always play someone that people could believe in and could get behind.

He was one of the greatest directors of all time from any country. He was as innovative as they came. He started in Italy and later worked in other countries. All of these films are works of art. The cinematography and the hard work that must have went into many of the shots and scenes is mind blowing. The early films were in black and white, but the later ones showed an amazing use of color as well.

Greatest Movie Sequels

Greatest Movie Sequels (May 2019)

Let's face it, the majority of sequels are dreadful. A lot of the reason for them is just to have a cheap cash in because of association with a previously successful film. Some are so bad that they even betray the original. Some have nothing to do with the original. Some sequels have been turned into franchises producing tons of films. This can be good in some ways, but also can be really bad. Some, however, are actually good. There are rare cases when a sequel could even be argued to be better than the original. These are some of the best sequels. They are all films I have seen as I would not included anything that I haven't seen. That may be why one of your favorites is not listed.
