The British invasion took place in the sixties.It went far beyond just the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. It was a huge force in music in the early sixties. This list is from the early sixties. Later bands such as Cream, ink Floyd and Led Zeppelin were not included all though they are connected with this era to some degree. Some of these acts were hugely successful, some moderately.
