Greatest and most interesting pre-Hayes code films (December 2019)

These films came at a time, believe it or not, believe censorship kicked in to a crazy degree in Hollywood. Films were a lot more realistic in those times and were much more willing to tackle complicated subject matter. Later on, all sorts of rules were put in such as not even allowing a married couple to be allowed to be shown sleeping in the same bed. It was ludicrous. This was the very early 30's.

Both Rocky Horror and Shock Treatment were fantastic films. They were both absolutely packed with some of the greatest songs in any films. The songs made the films even better than they would have been without them. Many of them stand on their own merit. It is well worth listening to the soundtracks. They could have been stand alone albums all on their own.

Disco got a lot of hate at the time, but it did produce some great music.
