For the most part, for large parts of the last century, foreign films were, arguably the best in the world. There are some that are beyond anything Hollwood has produced. This is a list of 50 of the best. Note that I have already done a second installment and am working towards a third. I tried not to include westerns or horror films. These are some of the greatest films ever. Many I would highly recommend.
